Army troopers fired upon by militants in Kupwara forests Srinagar, June 05: Militants on Thursday afternoon fired upon a party of army troopers in a forest area of Kupwara district, officials sources said.However, no one was injured in the attack, they said. The troopers from army’s 47 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) were busy in repairing telephone line in Keegam forests of the district during which a group of militants appeared and fired upon the troopers. The troopers also took positions but the militants managed to escape. The militants were believed to be three in number. Soon after the attack, huge continents of troops rushed to the area and started massive searches to nab the militants, official sources said.
