Arsenal are readying a £7m bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to replace Wojciech Szczesny. (Star) Szczesny made two errors against Southampton on New Years Day and has urged Arsene Wenger to move fast for a fresh No 1. Cech has been forced onto the bench this season by Belgian Thibaut Courtois and could be willing to move across London for first-team football again. Arsenal look set to miss out on Yohan Cabaye as the midfielder is likely to re-sign for Newcastle. (Mirror) PSG look ready to offload Cabaye but are keen on a swap deal involving Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who has also been linked with a move to Arsenal. Another Arsenal target, meanwhile, is also on the move with reports that Ron Vlaar is set to quit Aston Villa for Napoli. (Italian newspaper Il Mattino Villa have previously refused to sell their captain despite interest from Arsenal, United and Liverpool but now it appears Napoli have persuaded Villa to part with their man. Reports in Italy suggest Vlaar has provisionally agreed terms with the Serie A side and can either join them this month or at the end of the season. Arsenal look set to beat Man Utd to Ipswichs £10m-rated 18-year-old midfielder Teddy Bishop. (Sun) The teenager joins defender Tyrone Mings on the wanted list for both clubs, but Arsenal are said to be turning their full attention towards Bishop. Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy noted the increased interest in Bishop ahead of their FA Cup clash with Southampton. “Teddy is attracting almost as much attention as Tyrone.” Bishop only made his senior debut for Ipswich in the Capital One Cup back in August.
