As I read Scripture and look around today I am reminded that the Church is and always has been filled with incredibly ungrateful, self-interested, entitled, self-centered, always complaining, never can be happy, pessimistic, either/or mentality, always-have-something-say Christians who, and heres the worst part, are unaware they are these things despite the fact theyre always doing it. But praise God that the Church is and always has been filled with grateful, self-giving, humble, always encouraging, peace-making, hopeful, both/and mentality, always-praying-for-the-Church Christians who just are this way because they live by the Spirit and not by the flesh. This is the harsh reality of beloved community.
