As I sit at my desk trying to figure out how to get some significant funding for our animal sanctuary, I find myself paralyzed with shame, self doubt, embarrassment and just plain sadness.... Today we have ZERO dollars. We have so many animals who rely on us day in and day out. (Over 200 just here at the farm) Dogs like Chloe whos owner got divorced, and after renovating her home and starting a new life, she decided that there was no room in it for her dogs. Chloe didnt care for the change and had a TERRIBLE time with adoption events and foster home instability... and after several weeks in boarding it was determined that Chloe would need to come here to the farm as a resident. This is ONE fantastic dog. She is extremely obedient, sweet, fun and playful! But she does not do well with change and new people make her nervous. She is thriving here at the farm! Unfortunately, Chloe is one of the dogs that will likely spend the rest of her life here. But today the sanctuary faces and uncertain future... none of these dogs that we have given permanent residency to receive any type of financial support.
