As I try to make sense of the DOJs verdict and what will come, I feel lost in a maze of racism. These words by J. Hargobian help me center myself and will motivate me to get up and go to work when I would rather protest in the streets: “If education is not dedicated to empowering our youth to solve the problems they face in their communities, in our nation and in our world, then it isn’t really an education at all—it is an indoctrination designed to reproduce oppression.
