As a father of two little girls, I understand the importance of protecting those who are most vulnerable. Yesterday, I was glad to visit Green House17, formerly the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program, in Lexington to tour their facility and discuss ways to continue working together to end abuse in our families and the community. I supported the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act to provide victims of abuse the best resources possible and hopefully prevent further tragedies. It’s important that we come together to support safe havens like GreenHouse17 so that no one has to deal with the pain and terror alone from these horrific crimes. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for taking the time to share more about your important work. Carol loves the flowers grown on site by the residents sold as part of your fundraiser!
