As a nonprofit its challenging to keep up with technology. For the past couple years weve been testing laser therapy on our patients and charting the improvements it has on healing time. We were getting bids on a unit for our 2015 budget when from the other side of the world a Good Samaritan donated the laser system to us. Please join us in thanking SpectraVET Therapeutic Lasers (headquartered in Australia!) for the generous gift. Laser therapy is used to help heal fractures, wounds and joint injuries. In these photos, Vet Leslie Reed is working on a swan from the IA DNR swan breeding program. (its head is covered to reduce stress) Part of an injured wing needed to be amputated and the laser treatments are helping the wound on the end of the wing heal. Because of SpectraVETs generosity, hundreds of animals will heal more quickly, returning to their wild homes that much faster. Thank you!
