As a reminder, Jason Rubin and I are organizing a lunch time gathering in memory of Leon Ford, our fellow space enthusiast and friend who recently passed. The event will be held at 12 p.m. till 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the ASF show in the Rocket Garden Café. We ate with Leon at this café on Saturday at the 2013 show, and feel it appropriate to organize the same for 2014. No speeches, no fanfare; just like-minded friends and space enthusiasts getting together to honor an absent friend during the signing break at the ASF show. For those wishing to participate, we are asking for a $20 donation per person that will immediately be handed to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation later that day in memory of Leon. As most of you might know, the ASF was near and dear to his heart. Please join us that hour to remember our dear friend and the gentle spirit of Leon Ford. Those attending in person and who make the $20 donation will be asked to autograph a special item going to Leons widow, Donna. Hope to see you there!
