As an ardent supporter of net neutrality, I’m disappointed that the DC Circuit court struck down portions of the FCC’s network neutrality rules based on the mechanism the FCC had used to enact those rules. It did, however, reaffirm that the FCC has the authority to regulate the internet to ensure that providers do not discriminate against certain content and services, which will ensure competition, innovation, and an open internet. I urge the FCC to go back to the drawing board and develop net neutrality rules using the authority it has, and I will provide my support for any legislation that is needed to assist that effort.
