As many of you already know, The Silk Road art project is a series of thirteen big (around 12 feet!), beautiful, colorfully lit arches themed after actual stops on the actual, historical Silk Road. As a fundraiser for the project, we are holding an auction. Bid on one (or more!) of the actual arches used in the Silk Road project ON PLAYA! After the Burn, we will bring back six of the thirteen silk road arches to give to the highest bidding donors. What it Means: - ARCHES WILL BE RE-PAINTED AFTER THE BURN - LIGHTING FEATURES (LED & EL) will remain intact. (Most ARCHES have static lighting that plugs into a regular household plug) - ALL SILK DRAPES AND CURTAINS WILL BE REPLACED. (So you don’t have to deal with the Playa dust) - WE WILL DELIVER THE ARCH TO WHEREVER YOU’D LIKE AND EVEN SET IT UP FOR YOU! (Seattle area only please!) - WE WILL MAKE THESE DELIVERIES BEFORE THE END OF SEPTEMBER. We promise. That said, Shit happens on playa. In the unlikely event that a runaway art car or other unexpected disaster befalls your arch, we will substitute another, intact arch in its place. If the unthinkable occurs, and the entire project is destroyed in a meteor strike, or our trucks collide with each other in a fantastic fireball of death and destruction leaving no arches at all intact, you will just have to accept the fact that NOBODY will have an arch.
