As of today, I have been married 11 years! Any married person would easily call bullshit on me if I said it has been nothing but butterflies & sunshine. The truth is marriage can sometimes suck. It’s hard listening to the same person tell the same stories year in and year out, it’s infuriating to trip on the shoes they leave in the middle of the bedroom floor and don’t even get me started on how tricky it can be to deal with money together. But my husband is kind hearted, he is a good father and he loves me. I do a lot of stupid shit and no matter how far I float away, he is the anchor that always pulls me back. Because of him I can do the job I do. Because of him I can be the mom I am. Because of him nothing ever seems too scary. I love him for all of that. But honestly … if I have to hear about the one time he bought a futon on Rockville Pike again I may jump out the window. So here’s hoping we can make some new stories during our next 11 years.
