As of yesterday my son Matthew has a year (plus or minus a day or two) until he can stop all chemo treatment and go back to a normal life. He will have his port removed and be able to play baseball, ride his bike with a little bit of recklessness, be able to participate in more activities and throw his glove and pill box away. The gloves he really doesnt need but they are like his security blanket because he cant always have a place to wash his hand but he can put on fresh gloves. This is one day Im looking forward to so I can give him a great big hug and not have to worry about hitting his port or anything else.
