As the diesel pump skid arrived, the last flanges and gaskets were being tightened, ready for coupling to the pump. A large diesel fuel storage tank was filled and ready to connect to the engine. When the ship was docked and loading hoses were connected, the huge diesel engine roared to life, pumping Sun’s south Texas crude into the ship’s cargo tanks. With the ship terminal completed, new plans began for the next control building and a new computer system to replace the burned console. It was time for me to plan my return to Philadelphia and this time Joyce was invited to come along. Packing and arranging for details necessary for Joyce’s mother to stay with the girls was frantic and we finally managed it with Jewel and the girls assuring us that they would be fine. The return to Philadelphia was smooth and it was a nice break from all of the hectic push to finish the restoration of the storm damages. We stayed at a motel in King of Prussia, PA, northwest of downtown Philadelphia. After finalizing interviews, we began looking at homes to buy. We looked at so many places that we were dizzy and confused so we took the evening off. The next day, we were shown a house and the real estate lady told us that she was not supposed to say anything but there had been a suicide there! Nice place but no thanks! I did not like the steep driveway anyway! We liked a two story home in a nice neighborhood that was rumored to be a friendly neighborhood. There was paneled basement room that I could imagine having my pool table there for a game room and den! That night, we negotiated back and forth with the Chinese couple who owned the house through our real estate lady and we finally came to a price. We held to our figure and they took the living room carpet. We liked the oak floors anyway and it was a deal. We flew home to begin the sale of our home in Premont and arrange for the mover to load our belongings for the long move to King of Prussia, PA. A local lady wanted our place so we had a quick sale and everything moved on. We said our good bye to friends and neighbors and headed to Sour Lake for a visit and good bye to all of our folks there. Going away this time was more traumatic because of the distance but our decisions were made and there was no turning back now!
