As usual Pascal Robert bringing some necessary discourse to the table. Cuomo was above all a politician; even as he created an endgame for the Prison Industrial complex, he greased the paths for a generation of working class and poor Black strivers by maintaining some of the accessibility to the State University of New York system. If were honest with ourselves now--those of us who ended up in upstate outposts like Binghamton, Potsdam, New Paltz, Oswego, Oneonta, Buffalo, Fredonia (where I was) and others places, were largely oblivious to the correctional facilities that ended getting built in those outposts where there were no campuses (SUNY has 66 of them).
