As we approach the end of this historic Redemption Tour of my Man - TopicsExpress

As we approach the end of this historic Redemption Tour of my Man of the moment, I feel like sharing this story under the caption My First Time of Meeting Kwabena Agyei Agyepong: My first time of meeting this handsome intelligent man was on a lazy Afternoon around the Korle Bu Hospital area in late 1980s. As I walked with my Brother Papa Abew Maximillian Anastas Brodie-Mends towards Violas, he said: Paa Kofi, do not react but look at the young guy coming...and will tell you something. I did so, and saw this man walking quietly by plucking some little plants in such a serene solitary walk...We exchanged quick greetings and later Papa told me...He is the son of the murdered High Court Judge Justice Agyepong...My heart caught a beat, though we were used to personal tragedies from dangerous Ghana Politics! I told him how Mfantsipim Headmaster B K Dontwi had called my Brother Lawyer on that fateful murder day in distress that he did not know what to do with Kwabena and wanted him to be taken away to a safe secure place before the revolutionaries come for him: Since then, I have never stopped following his fortunes and was so elated when President Kufuor appointed him as his Spokesman...And to crown this with his quest to be the Secretary of Mighty NPP is beyond my expectations, and pray silently for him! This story is however about my role in the publication of the Justice Azu Crabbe SIB Report into the Murder of the High Court Judges by Kojo Tsikata/Rawlings and the notorious PNDC regime. After the murder of the Three High Court, Rawlings publicly cried and accused ‘enemies of the revolution’ for committing the heinous crime in order to damage reputation of the PNDC government. Under pressure from the International Community Rawlings PNDC set up a Committee to Investigate the Murder of the Judges. Justice Azu Crabbe Chaired the Investigations Committee and pointedly concluded that Kojo Tsikata masterminded the Murder of the Noble Judges and should therefore be arrested immediately and prosecuted for his role in the dastardly murder!” Sir Azu Crabbe was so bold then to reach this conclusion, which he paid dearly for his life in exile for decades! Jerry Rawlings sat on the Special Investigative Report. A lady working in the Castle Osu risked her life and smuggled the abridged Version to anti-revolutionaries: A top Lawyer came to my Brother Lawyers Chambers and gave him the Report whiles I was serving them...My Brother introduced me to this Patriotic man seething still over the gruesome murder, and mentioned that perhaps I like Politics more than our Father. The man became interested in me; took me aside and asked me to read the SIB Report. I was benumbed by its contents. More Top guys came to my Brother’s. I asked my cousin to serve them, whiles I jumped into a taxi to Cape Vars. There were no photocopiers around nor could I copy it in the Library. I called late Obeng and another guy to type the Report on a Cyclosted Paper...They were electric and shortly finished it. I took a Taxi back to my house and gave the Report to the big men and returned to cape Vars. It was sad to read it. I later approached Uncle Kojo Alata who gave me Ink to run copies for Distribution. I will wake up about 2.00 am and jog with a friend to post them in the homes of lecturers...It was hot stuff and saw it as a personal mission to let anyone read it… I was nominated as a delegate of the famous 1983 NUGS Congress at UST. I went on my own to Kumasi carrying horde of this unpublished SIB Murder Report, knowing I will be killed by these savages when am caught: At Tech, I lay low and joined the Organisational Affairs Commission with Dan Botwe and Philip B-Simpson against a formidable team of left wing pro-revolutionary group of Akoto Ampaw, Kweku Arhin, Philip Gardiner, Eshun, Twertwie Poku, Obre, Adu Gyamfi...we slaughtered them in the August house as Philip strung us along with Notes whiles we took turns to return the old tosh with probing responses...Then I went to the National Affairs Commission filled to the brim with Amoah Larbi, Arthur K, Hans Djaba, Kyereme Djan , etc. My man Aspalon held onto the powder keg...I took my turn around 3.00am and began my contribution Mr Chairman, we all know about the Murder of the Three High Court Judges in Ghana. The Azu Crabbe Investigative Committee has completed its work, and as you know, the murderous PNDC has refused to publish the said Report...but I have copies here for everyone...and we began to distribute these to a great stampede...it was phenomenal...the following day PNDC agents stormed the University to disperse us...whereas some of the Delegates joined the biggest Demonstration my eyes will ever see in Ghana by Legon Students led by Arthur Arthur Kobina Kennedy Few years later my Cousin married a Daughter of one of the Murdered Judges...and therefore now has nephews and nieces from the same episode in history. You cannot suppress a cork under water forever! The evil that men do…lives after them… ”Kum Apem A, Apem Beba” “Ampara, Nyame nye Hen wo sor nye Asaase! GOOD LUCK, KAA!
