As you are aware, the Philippines was struck by a super storm of unprecedented magnitude on 07 Nov 2013. The whole Visayas region is under state of calamity. The storm surge caused record highs of damages and loss of lives. Around 800,000 families are displaced and an estimated 4,000 people have perished. There is little or no shelter, food, electricity nor proper medical assistance etc. In connection with this, some friends for Philippines based in Belgium have decided to act, and we are going to help them They are not asking for monetary donations but if you can donate the following: Clothes (please avoid winter clothes, as there is 30-35 C degrees in the affected region at the moment) - Blankets - Slippers - Diapers - Flash lights/lanterns - Canned goods - Medicines (paracetamol, against cough and colds, anti-diarrhea, vitamins) - First aid kits - Tents - Candles/ matches - Bottled water - Towels - Toiletries (shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes) - Rain gear - Insect repellents - Feminine hygiene supplies Donations should be delivered in my office before 28 November 2013. Plus, they are very transparent with the distributions of the relief goods as well as they are audited. Furthermore, Miguel Sarmiento has worked with them 4 years ago during the ONDOY Super Typhoon that hit Metro Manila. These 2 TV networks are the biggest TV networks in the Philippines. The organizer have arranged a free-of-charge storage Shurguard depot (for packing) near Zaventem and DHL-Belgium has already pledged to airfreight these packages to the Philippines free of charge.
