As you know, Smart Growth Boyle is an advocacy organization that seeks to promote smart growth principles in Danville and Boyle County. The more people there are exchanging ideas, the better our community will be! The SGB objectives for 2015: 1. ~ We will continue to monitor and report on P&Z and the Technical Review Committee, with special attention to the continuing discussion of the Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map. 2. ~ We will strongly advocate for changes that would make our downtown more vibrant. Among other things, this would include attending to neglected properties and finding creative ways to encourage new retail business ventures, with special emphasis on attracting a downtown grocery store. 3. ~ We will work with existing groups to advocate for increased walkability and bike-ability by improving sidewalks and connecting and expanding trails in Danville and around the county. 4. ~ We will encourage governmental agencies and other groups to actively seek and apply for grants to help in achieving our overall goals.
