As you may know by now, KAIT may not be available on Dish Network after July 31st. We know this is frustrating. We share your frustration. Let us briefly explain what happened, what is likely to happen next and what you can do to make sure you don’t miss a minute of your favorite local news and weather and great ABC programs. In order for stations like KAIT to serve you, we need agreements with the cable and satellite companies that bring our signal into your home. We have such agreements in place with all the TV providers serving Region 8. Raycom Media the parent company of KAIT has been working the past few months to resolve this matter, but Dish Network has refused to come to terms. It’s frustrating because all the other TV providers in our area honor their deals with us and those deals are fundamentally similar to the one we are requesting with Dish Network. KAIT values your viewership and the long relationship we have enjoyed here in Region 8. We’ve stood together during the Have-A-Heart Wishathon and the Flood of 2011, we are your first alert for breaking news and severe weather, a responsibility and trust we don’t take lightly. We are going to keep working to resolve this matter with Dish Network. But you don’t have to wait. The good news is you can take action.
