Ashley Cappetta Racing Press Release 6/10/13- It’ been nothing but bad luck so far this year for the team. Struggling with fuel issues in the beginning of the year. Followed by a broken lifter and push rod. Then a broken steering box. The team has been trying to get the bugs figured out each week and lately nothing but bad luck has been on the team’ side but that’s part of racing. Ashley had a bad wreck last week in turn 1 and 2 on the start of the race demolishing 90% of the car. Ashley kept strong during the week trying to rebuild the team with her crew, and crew chief to come back even stronger. The team put together a new car which is a Triple X Chassis after warm ups Ashley said she liked the car better already which was a plus. Started 9th in the heat race and finished 8th the motor was not running good at all in the heat Ashley stated “it just didn’t want to take off, I had the throttle to the floor and it just wouldn’t go”. The team knew something was wrong so they changed what they could to get Ashley out for the consolation event. The #89 started 5th in the consolation event and on lap 1 Ashley realized she had a fuel leak but that didn’t stop her any. Ashley said she ran the car as hard as she could and it defiantly proved the car was running well she finished 3rd. Lining up for the feature Ashley heard the motor not sounding to great so she decided to start 24th instead of 21st out of respect for the 3 drivers that follow aside and behind her. Good thing she did lap 2 of the feature the motor was running on 6 cylinders. The team leaked the motor down finding the issue of a bent valve and broken lifter possibly damaging the cam. This was probably an issue that was started from Ashley’s flip last weekend. However, the engine will be getting looked at and hopefully being fixed this week for ACR to race a 2 race weekend at Lincoln Speedway and Susquehanna Speed Park. We want to thank all of our sponsors for standing behind us after such a bad start for this season but its apart of the sport we love so much. Thank you also to all of our supportive fans.
