Aspartame: Friend of Foe? You decide. Aspartame is the - TopicsExpress

Aspartame: Friend of Foe? You decide. Aspartame is the technical name for the brand names NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, and Equal-Measure. It was discovered by accident in 1965 when James Schlatter, a chemist of G.D. Searle Company, was testing an anti-ulcer drug. It is found more and more in our Diet foods and can be labelled under different names. As time has moved on, people have developed conditions that were not so common 40-50 years ago. The questions should be asked, what has changed in our food chain that is causing damage to the human body? If Aspartame is a Foe rather than friend to us then why is it so commonly used in the food we eat? As a society we need to ask more questions as to what is going in our foods and WHY! Over the next week we will be posting about foods and what goes in them which will hopefully be an eye opener for people.
