Aspiring Writers: Yesterday I posted about how I sold 9.000 copies of my first novel (which I self-published) in six months. Ive never received so many private messages and emails asking the same question: How did I do that? It was a different time, but I can tell you two things that I did. First, I read The Guide to Self Publishing from COVER TO COVER as if it were a novel and then, I did just about everything that was suggested. Next: I spent EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND finding something to do with my book. I visited book clubs, I sold books at fairs. Wherever there were two people, I was there. I was out selling my book. There was no social media so I didnt get caught up in trying to sell my book from my computer. Books are sold face to face and that is something that is still true!!!
