At the Innovation Endeavors Curiosity Camp, I spent some time with famous music video producer, Chris Milk. He had a tent with a screen and a weird looking microphone that looked like it had eight fake ears. Invited me in, put on an Oculus VR on me. Then said watch this. It turned out it was a Beck concert. He had three camera positions. Two were on tracks, so the camera moved around Beck. Each used several GoPro cameras so you could see 360-degrees just by moving your head (the video was seamlessly stitched together). The sound was matched to where you were too, so if you were by the violins in the orchestra, you heard those just like if you were there. The experience was extraordinary. Shows that Oculus Rift wont be just used to make games, but will let us experience media in a whole new way. Cant wait to see what Chris does next!
