Atheism is a self-referentially incoherent position to hold, and - TopicsExpress

Atheism is a self-referentially incoherent position to hold, and thus cannot be true. How? Let me explain. Atheism as a worldview presupposes naturalism. Naturalism presupposes determinism, or the belief that we are merely molecules in motion and that every physical state of being including our thoughts and actions are the mere effects of a previous state of being. Determinism renders the self but an illusion of consciousness. Thus, if you believe in atheism, you have to believe that you came to that belief not as a result of rational thought or logical reflection, but rather as the result of completely unavoidable deterministic processes that were in play since the beginning of the universe. If this is the case, then on what basis can you assert that your beliefs accurately correspond to reality? Without free will and ACTUAL rational thought and reflection, without the reality of a nonmaterial self and mind, there is nothing in a deterministic universe that should lead the creatures therein to hold beliefs that are true! Deterministic processes could lead creatures to any number beliefs without prejudice! Therefore, asserting atheism as true is a truth claim that the very worldview of atheism renders one unable to make, as the worldview of atheism itself would have arisen out of deterministic processes over which the subject holding to atheism would have absolutely no control, and thus cannot claim as being true! Therefore, atheism is self-referentially incoherent and cannot be true! Therefore, GOD exists. BOOM! The Jokerr
