Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn reports that on September 30, 2013 Judge L. Alan Goldsberry sentenced Jerry Smith, age 30, of Main Street in Chauncey , to one year in prison for breaking and entering and theft in case number 13CR255. The court also revoked Smith’s judicial release in case number 11CR128. The court sentence the defendant to the balance of his four years on 11CR128 concurrent to 13CR255. In 11CR128 Smith will receive credit for the time already served in jail, prison and SEPTA. Prosecutor Blackburn reports “On June 29, 2013, Jerry Smith and Brandon Masters broke into Kal Electric, in Athens and stole scrap aluminum wire from the business. A sheriff deputy stopped the men for a traffic violation and discovered the scrap metal in their truck. They confessed they had stolen it from Kal Electric.” Brandon Master is awaiting sentencing in 13CR008 for felony theft from Walmart of Athens and has a Pre-trial scheduled in 13CR244 and 13CR256 on October 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM. In case 13CR244 Master’s is charged with June 13, 2013 conduct at Cochran’s Transportation for theft and in case 13CR256 he is charged with June 29, 2013 with Jerry Smith in 13CR255.
