Attacks on the SACP are unfounded The outrageous ongoing attempts by populists to spread malice by discrediting and ignoring the role played by the vanguard of the working class in the South African revolution, the vigilant South African Communist Party (SACP) has to be exposed. The SACP detractors have a lot of shortcomings; they seem to be reading different history textbooks and using flawed tools of analysis to evaluate the vital reason of the existence of the vanguard in any revolution. The role of the vanguard is to advance the struggle of the working class and those who find themselves in the lower level of societal stratification, to offer political leadership and consciousness about the significance of the revolution. Most of all the vanguard is the theoretically advanced organization that is clear on working class issues. From its inception the Party has executed its duties in all facets of the ongoing South African revolution. The emergence of insults manifesting in labels such as, “yellow communists” from pseudo-Marxist-Leninists and ideologically hacillinating self-imposed political figures lacks ideological appropriate reasoning. It is baseless to label communists as being “yellow” there is no definition of a yellow communist, in a class based society the existence of communists is to challenge, curb and finally overcome the exploitive mechanism used by capitalists and those who protect capitalism. In the South African context the Party plays a pivotal role in shaping socialist policies through its involvement in the Tripartite Alliance. Today the SACP continues to call for the establishment of a state owned bank that is human centred, “yellow communists” will not even raise such vital policy making mechanisms. The derogatory term “yellow communist” is an attempt used by counter-revolutionaries who tend to think that socialism can be achieved through slogans and insults, they must sit down!
