Attention Douglas County Fair and Rodeo PRCA and WPRA participants - TopicsExpress

Attention Douglas County Fair and Rodeo PRCA and WPRA participants Protecting the health of our participating horses and livestock is of the utmost importance to the Douglas County Fair Board. Because of the recent verifications of Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) in Colorado and the potential exposure in Douglas County, we have implemented the following biosecurity measures to minimize the spread of this infectious disease. All horses and livestock that enter the grounds will be subject to an examination. Horses and livestock displaying obvious signs of clinical disease, such as fever or lesions in the mouth, etc... will not be permitted to enter the Fairgrounds. There will be a No Fever Policy; any animals with a temperature above 101.5 F will not be allowed to enter the Fairgrounds. Participants have the option to provide to Fair Management a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate), written within 5 days of arrival to the Fairgrounds. Further, all participants must complete a health declaration form that will be provided for each competitor. All participants must agree to fully cooperate with examining officials and abide by their decisions/instructions. Failure to comply with officials shall be grounds for immediate expulsion from the grounds and disqualification from the Fair. Douglas County Fair will have an examination official onsite 4 hours prior to each Rodeo Performance. Please allow yourself plenty of time for this precautionary measure. We appreciate your compliance with our efforts to protect the health of all of our animal participants. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Fair office at 720-733-6900. Sincerely, Todd Spencer Fair Board Chairman Craig Sloan Rodeo Committee Chairman Jonna Negus-Pemberton Fairgrounds Manager
