VDC community: Here is a great opportunity to become more deeply involved in Via de Cristo: The National Lutheran Secretariat of Via de Cristo (NLS) is the national organization that all local VDC Communities are members of. The NLS offers guidelines and rules that help keep all local groups within the operating environment that we call Via de Cristo. At this time the NLS is seeking a person who is interested and willing to fill an appointed position called "Archivist/Historian". This person will collect and maintain historical information concerning VDC at the National level, the NLS. The "Archivist/Historian" Job Description: Position: Archivist/Historian Non-elected position Appointed by NLS to serve two years Renewable by appointment for additional two-year terms Serves without compensation Reports to NLS and the Executive Board Purpose: The Archivist/Historian is a responsible servant of Jesus Christ who wishes to Glorify God by archiving historical materials with the purpose of maintaining, and retrieving where necessary, past history of the NLS. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Search for, solicit, and request possible materials that deserve and should be included in the NLS archives. 2. Maintain records of archived materials in the NLS Archive Database. 3. Produce reports as needed of archived materials. 4. Act on requests from others for information from the Archive Database. 5. Obtain approval from NLS board before destroying any archival materials. 6. Contribute articles for the Conexiones magazine as deemed necessary. 7. Pray regularly for others on the NLS. Other Duties: Other duties as assigned by the President Supervisory Responsibilities: Self management.
