Atwoods visit today was good. The doctor said he is at 50% b-cell and 50%t-cell. Which is average but shows that he is still very immune compromised. The doctor has me coming back for IVIG Thursday. She laid down the rules of summer: He will always need to be protection from the sun for the rest of his life he is high risk for cancer. Right now he is high risk for graft vs host if burnt which would could cause transplant failure. So he is to be covered wrist to ankle outside when in the sun. She said for me to purchase a UV suit and hat for him(and the strongest sunblock to anything exposed). She said no pond, lake, or stream. She recommends the rec pool that is indoors. He can go to other public pools in proper attire. He can go to the beach in proper attire but needs to be washed off immediately after leaving(camp showers work great when nothing else available). No sand boxes unless covered at all times when not in use. Masks in heavy crowds anywhere. Less dense crowds outside we may take mask off unless he needs that barrier to keep dirty hands from making face contact. He can take longer trips and keep his hands CLEAN. So all in all I need to put out $150 for Atwood to have a somewhat normal summer. Excited for our new freedoms.
