Auto drivers allege harassment by RTA officials Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Auto Drivers’ Union and Green City Auto Owners’ Association have alleged that the RTA officials were harassing them defying Court order and GOMS no 90. Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Union leaders Shaik Rahim, SK B Jama, Mithun Raj, Sayyad Jibran Hussain, Sayyad Shakiruddin said according to Court orders, the government sanctioned 13,000 autos under general quota, 7,000 autos under SC, ST, BC and Minority quota. The government had also issued orders to complete registration process within four months. Though October 14 was fixed as last date for this, the RTA officials were harassing the auto drivers to produce caste certificates against the proceedings even though auto drivers who got autos under general quota. They demanded that the RTA officials complete the process of registration speedily as the last date was nearing. The auto union leaders warned that they would lay a siege to the RTA office if the officials failed to resume registration work immediately. They said they would take up various agitation programs and also approach the court if the RTA officials failed to change their attitude towards Auto Drivers.
