Automated post as tonight Im out with some pretty cool rooftop access in the city centre but more of that later... the ISS pass tonight is a beezer, a topper, a dandy, a beano... beano doesnt work but its a belter. As bright as Ive ever seen it and nice and high. 20.07 is the time, fingers crossed for at least gaps in the clouds. The FAQs. What is it? Its a space station. Really, with people on and everything. How do I see it? Go outside (this bit is important), no, not now, at the pass time of 20.07. Right, now face South. That way. No, not that way, THAT WAY. OVER THERE. Look towards the Pentlands. Big hills TO THE SOUTH. Splendid. Now look right, your other right. That should be roughly west. Itll come from that direction and pass to the east. FFS, the left then! Im cool with that, what am I looking for? It shoots flames. No it doesnt. It looks like a fast moving star, very bright and bigger than most stars look. No, thats a plane. Planes like raincoated perverts, flash. The ISS does not have a raincoat. It only goes west to east, if it goes any other way its not the ISS. Its probably a satellite. No, its not a shooting star. Believe me its not, they cross a lot quicker than that but if it makes you feel better its a shooting star, make a wish. Where can I see it? You can see it anywhere in the UK. Yes, even Armadale, and Musselburgh... YES, even in Fife. Can your auntie in Australia see it? Yes, probably at a different time but itll be upside down. I didnt see it? Did you go outside? Was it the right time? Is it cloudy? Did you look the right way? Whats for dinner? Is that the time? Who am I???
