Surely his brothers poseidon and Hades were powerful but he was a leader. The children of Zeus in camp demigods united were known as Zeusors. The cabin of his children was just like him. Royal and majestic. Among his children, was a girl named Gayu Puthran. A lean, tall and teenaged girl. Her black hairs were a little above her shoulders. She had dark chocolate brown eyes. Right now she was asleep curled up in her bunk. It was early in the morning. The winter in camp demigods united was such that it never ended. Brian had told the campers that Zeus liked the camp that way... always cold with winter. But.. there was no snowfall. It only occurred in the months of November, December and January. Rest of the year the temperature was low but not snowy. The demigods around gayu were waking up. Some were practicing air pressure movements by lifting things just by dominating the air pressure. Some were zooming from their upper bunks straight to the exit of the cabin. Some were even experimenting with various colored thunder lightnings. Still... even in this chaos, Gayu slept peacefully. This was a normal situation in the cabin of the Zeusors. Gayu Ralph Beldoza, the councilor of cabin Zeus called gayu. She was on the upper bunk. Ralph called her from below. He was a real zeusor in every way. Thats why hed been made the councilor. He was handsome to some extent. Gayu! Ralph called again. You wake up... or Ill come up? Woke up!!!!! Gayu sat straight on her bunk with wide eyes trying to show Ralph that she was completely awake. Youre late Ralph said sternly. Oh no gayu jumped off her bunk right beside Ralph. What did I miss? Breakfast Ralph said bluntly. What? Gayu nearly yelled. I slept so late last night.. she clutched her head. Why didnt you wake me up? Ralph looked as if he wanted to thunder shoot Gayu. A purple circuit of shock flickered in his hairs. Otherwise he looked completely normal. Im sorry taka! Ralph apologized for thundering taka. He turned and stalked out of the zeusors cabin. Gayu sighed and hung her head. She was a mischief queen. The lady prankster of the camp. But.. the fun wasnt much when she was alone. She was amazimg in pranking while accompanied by Lorenzo and Justin. Lorenzo was a brother to her. And Justin, a friend. She was fourteen. Ten years younger to justin and four years younger to lorenzo. But the bond between them had proved that age factor hardly mattered in friendship or love or any other relationship. Gayu was from India, just like Neo. But she had been from Mumbai and Neo had been a Delhi girl. Gayus mother, Eva was a manager in a hotel. She was alone to look after Gayu. But Eva never got frustrated or angry with her only daughter. Even though she was busy most of the time, Eva always found a way make her daughter smile. They were rich.. but.. Gayu was never sent to school.. her mother wanted to keep gayu safe until a satyr would come to take her. Eva never tried to hide it from gayu that she was not a normal human. She told her that zeus was her father.But she also made her to promise that gayu wouldnt tell anyone about her being unique. Gayu knew it that she was special but she had never used her powers. She had no idea what she could do until the came when she actually discovered her real self. It was a sunday. Summer made the atmosphere very hot and bright due to the sun. Gayu had successfully taken the permission from her mother to go out for horse riding. But promise me Eva said checking her files. Youll be back here before 5pm. I dont want Bennett calling me and complaining that you were scaring all his horses. Gayu had this weird aura which often made the normal horses to run away from her. I hope I get at least a horse today. Gayu said pulling on a thin black shrug over her blue sleeveless top. And Eva said giving her a look. Ill be late. So when you get back I might not be there. What if I am in trouble and youre not here? Gayu said it intentionally to pick on her mother. She asked the same question to Eva everyday. Then Eva said casually like she everyday. You use your powers. Gayu was unknown about her level of powers. She never knew what was waiting for her in Bennetts farmhouse. When she reached the farmhouse, everything was very quite. It was already 3pm and gayu wondered if she would get to do some horse riding or not. She walked inside the farmhouse looking around for Bennett. Hello beauty. The horse was black in color.. meaning.. jet black. Gayu wondered if the horse had been painted black by bennett. She shook away the thought. The horse looked very annoyed with bennetts grip on his neck but he didnt hurt bennett at all. I ride this? Gayu asked in awe. This isnt even trained. Not at all... bennett added smiling sheepishly he arrived in the morning. Thats why hes unbooked. Gayu felt like whacking his sheep face. How could he even offer her an untrained horse.... that to a horse, that looks like hes waiting for his first passenger to ride and then no one would ever think of riding him again. What if he bounces me off and kills me? Gayu asked as if clearing a doubt. You die! Bennett said as a matter of fact. Great gayu said cursing bennett mentally thats what about to happen. The thunder grumbled again. Bennett looked up at the clear sky. Weather has gone crazy today. He said nodding towards the sky. Gayu felt as if the horse would rather kill her than taking care of her. Finally bennett left and now gayu and the black paint were standing there in a very awkward silence. So gayu said shall we ride? The horse shook his head saying no pawing the ground nervously. The thunders crackled again. Oh cmon gayu pulled him out and dragged him all the way to the gate of the farmhouse. She succeeded in heading towards the forest areas away from the traffic roads. The city lights and vehicles faded as they reached the outer area of the highway. Gayu felt hot but the wind made her feel better. They reached the area where roads werent visible anymore. The green trees signaled gayu that she had come too far. Gayu entered the forest along with the dark horse. The trees lowered the hot temperature in the forest. Gayu kept riding and the thunder crackled in the clear sky. Everything was fine until... Gayu... an icy chilly voice whispered through the trees ahead of her. Shivers ran down her spine. Gayu realized that it wasnt her imagination because the horse stopped and pawed the damp earth. Gayu tried to get it under control. The thunder grumbled again. Hello? Gayu said in a raised voice trying to keep the horse calm. She looked around... only trees.. green stuff. GAYU this time the horse pawed more nervously.. gayu almost got a heart attack as the sky above her crackled with thunder. Small drops of water fell on her face and hands.. the rain was gaining speed. Suddenly she could feel some unwanted presence around her. Canter!!!!! Gayu yelled. The horse cantered through the deep forest going to nowhere. His speed was invincible. The clouds above them grew thicker and darker. The rain was now increasing heavily and splattered them pushing in every direction but gayu had to admit the this black horse wasnt painted... it was a real horse. It had no idea where he was going but was just saving his rider from whatever the trouble was. All of sudden his speed slowed down and he stopped to catch his breath. The rain poured madly but Gayu got down from the brave horses back and caressed him around the neck. She realized how far hed made it to keep her safe. His neck was burning hot from cantering. Gayu felt like crying but with the rain falling heavily no one could say she was actually crying. What was that thing? She could feel its presence still around her. Gayu knelt on the wet muddy ground. Her jeans was dirty with mud now. She cried.... she was in trouble now. She wiped her face even though it was wetting with rain and tears again and again. Eva had told her she wasnt safe outside... eva... gayu thought about her mother. The thunder grumbled even hard. Gayu looked up.. the lightenings were blinking like fancy lights. She looked at the horse. It looked fine now. Gayu got back on the horses back and without waiting the horse cantered ahead. Faster and faster they cantered.... They came to a clearing.. it happened so all of sudden that neither of them realized what happened. They had reached a cliff and due to the heavy rain they couldnt see anything ahead. Next... gayu was falling off the cliff... the air was zooming so fast Gayu forgot to scream. The green forest frozen valley below her was getting clear and coming closer. Suddenly she felt a lurch. the air pressure around her body... was wrapping her... or maybe it was getting wrapped around her. And then.... Gayu was hanging in the midair, upside down. She hung there frozen... breathing heavily. The grip around her body was still very tight as if someone was holding her from falling. Gayu closed her eyes and took a deep breath... her mind was still now... very still. UP!!!! she yelled... and next moment the grip was pulling her up. Gayu concentrated on the air pressure. Now she didnt yelled any orders. All she did was think what she wanted the air to do. Somehow she managed it back to the ground. She fell on the wet muddy ground which was still being showered with rain. She fell with a thud, shivering in the rain. Her eyes were getting drowsy and she wanted to sleep.. she wanted to let go everything. Gayu.. a chilly voice whispered again. Gayus eyes snapped open. At first she saw no one. But then... two jet black paws... and she looked up at the owner. Cant you just die dirty demigod? The black paint horse said with the same chilly voice. Most of you find a way to survive... but not all of you. The horse raised its front body ready to trample gayu under its paws. Gayu came to her senses just in time to roll to the other side. The horse hissed annoyingly and its form dissolved into a snake... Gayu crawled getting towards the forest. She got on foot. The snake slithered coming closer to gayu. Gayu felt anger surge inside her. That was the moment when she raised her hands in the air openly still dripping with the continuous rain. It felt as if she was asking the sky to pull her in the air. But something unexpected happened. The red thunder grumbled and crackled through her. It felt like getting charged with a 1000 bolt electronic device. She felt her energy rise... when the lightning was gone, gayu looked for the paint cum horse cum snake. She didnt found anything. Their was a pile of black dust which was getting dissolve with the rain.. gayu wondered if it had been her enemy. Her ride was gone now. There was only way to reach her home back now. Fly...!!! She somehow controlled the wind and managed to reach the traffic roads. The weather was hot and normal as ever. No sign of rain.... Gayu was late. Her mother shoulsve been angry at her but when eva saw gayu like that she wailed and cursed herself for not taking care of her. Im alive gayu said lazily Eva took her to a satyr who was responsible to bring gayu to the camp demigods united. That was the last time she had seen her mother. Since she had entered this camp, Gayu had never seen the world outside. In fact, very few demigods had left the camp during their stay at demigods united. Only when the head master, Brian London would declare a demigod self-dependent and independent, the one was permitted to leave the camp. Gayu missed her mother a lot. But she liked Brian for one thing. Just one rule... once in a month, you could write a letter for any one person outside the camp... your family member. Gayus best privilege was that there was only one person outside the camp who mattered to her... Eva, her mother. Otherwise there was no one she knew and neither she wanted to know outside the camp. Gayu looked up at Taka who was sitting on his bunk and glaring at her. He was around nine. And he looked cute as he glared at Gayu. May I enter? Gayu and Taka looked at the door. Ton was standing there smiling sheepishly at Gayu. No!! Not today! Gayu said walking towards her bunk. She always ran away from Ton. He was a great brother but often a great teacher too. He took it as his responsibility to make sure that Gayu practiced all her powers properly. He wanted her to work hard. But Gayu was a small package of mischief running all around .... very difficult to handle by any one person. I permit you Ton. Taka said looking very dignified about his command. His hairs were half burnt and smoking too. Gayu turned to Taka. Why are you doing that to me? Gayu asked looking frustrated. Did I do something wrong to you? Well Taka said looking pleased for irritating her. Why did you do this to me? He pointed at his smoking, half burnt hairs. Did I do something to you? That wasnt my fault anyway!!! Gayu protested. Ralph did that, right? Ton entered the cabin and walked to gayu. Its alright. He tried to calm down Gayu. Do you even know how much time will it take my hairs to grow back? Taka snapped. Two hours. Stop it you two. Ton said looking around. Now surely Gayus siblings were glancing at Takas burnt hairs and giggling in herds. Cmon Gayu Ton pushed her towards the bunk below Gayus bunk. I dont wanna practice today Gayu said miserably. Please Ton Ton was a tall guy and although he might have been seventeen or eighteen, he looked more manly than his actual age. And that someone belonged to this cabin. Ton didnt say anything. He didnt had any objections with Gayu liking some other guy. Gayu peered inside the doors of cabin athena. The first view— books were zooming around in the air. Maps were floating from one table to the other. Athenians were busy.. very busy. Some were calculating numericals on a black board which stretched over the wall on the left corner. On the right wall, different maps were plastered randomly. May I enter? Gayu asked to everyone. Maybe someone would hear her and say— Come in. Gayu looked on the other side where Josh stood holding a map and staring at it very seriously. Josh Ronaldo was a very intelligent guy. He was the head of the Barrier Squad of the camp. The Barrier Squad was the team of ten demigods that worked for the protection of the boundaries from inside. Zeus might have been guarding the doors from outside but the Barrier Squad made sure that no one from inside could sneak out. Josh was handsome. His jet black hairs reached his eyes trying to interrupt his concentration. His eyes were stormy. Gayus eyes were fixed at Josh. She sighed smiling at him even though he was busy staring at the map. He pulled out the jacket and kept it on the table. Then he unbuttoned his sleeves and started folding them. Gayu wondered if he was about to take out all his clothes. She didnt want him to do that exactly. She sat beside Ton and pulled her chair closer to the table. So Ton said eagerly. The look on your face says you have a great secret? Gayu felt the same. Josh looked very serious and kept looking around as if checking out if someone was listening to them or not. Brian called me last night. He said looking up at the ceiling. Gayu and Ton looked at the ceiling too. The ceiling was made up of books... or maybe books were stuffed in the ceiling. Drop sea of monsters. Josh ordered the ceiling. A huge book with thick sea green cover fell over Josh and he caught it casually, not even looking at it. How can he be so perfect? Gayu asked herself. Josh opened the book and flipped the pages. He stopped at a page that had some sort of diagram on it. Here He pushed the book towards Gayu and Ton. Thats Barmuda Triangle normally known as sea of monsters. Ton grabbed the book and checked out the diagram. Gayu tilted her head and looked at it too. It was some kind of three cornered shape made by three lines joining each other. It was labeled too. Gayu read it in her mind— The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devils Triangle, is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. She felt something touch her foot under the table. She looked at Ton. He was completely lost in the Barmuda thing. She glanced at Josh who was staring at her with a naughty grin on his face. He tapped his foot on her foot again. Stop it! Gayu mouthed blushing furiously. Never! Josh mouthed back. Stop it! Ton said shaking his head in disbelief. Gayu straightened her face and Josh was very serious again. Ton looked up at Josh. This cant be true... Ton said looking worried. Gayu realized that Ton wasnt talking about their romance under the table. He was talking about the Barmuda thing. There cant be any gates to another world at the sea of monsters. Ton looked totally confident about his point. I dont know about that. Josh said closing the book. Im not even interested in the other world even if it really exists. Im interested in something else. His eyes flicked to Gayu for a second as he said it. Gayu looked away instantly. This is how Josh flirted with her... indirectly. And what is that something else? Ton asked getting serious about the topic . Brian sent his men to the sea of monsters for some work. Josh leaned over the table lowering his voice. And... And what? Gayu asked excitedly. Wait.. Ton interrupted. Why did he sent his men to that place? I never asked him and he never told me. Josh shrugged. Thats not important anyway... Im investigating something else. What? Gayu asked eagerly. The crew... that went to that area Josh looked grim. Never returned. What? Ton looked shocked. But Brians crew must have been strong, right? None of them returned? Gayu asked tensely. Josh tapped his chin thoughtfully. Only one returned. That man wasnt a member of the crew. Gayu felt a bit ghostly now. Everyone died and one survived? That wasnt even a member of the crew? How was that possible? Who survived? Ton asked grimly. Jack Sparrow. Josh said lowering his voice even more. He controls the sea around the Caribbean. But why did he go with the crew? Ton looked irritated now. Doesnt matters. Josh shrugged. I find that the most important question is.... where did the rest of them go? Not even a piece of wood was found from where they disappeared. He saw a small boat full of gold sailing on its own in the sea... he jumped into the sea to get to the boat. He reached it... crawled inside.. counted the gold bars... exactly 222 pieces. Then he turned to look at his ship... but... it wasnt there... just disappeared. Thats malony! Ton said shaking his head. How can it just disappear? Did you notice something? Josh asked to them. Yes Gayu said quickly. 222 gold bars... Brians turning 222 tomorrow. Josh smiled at her. Ton looked as if he was going mad now. Where is that man.. sparrow? He asked Josh. Jack Sparrow... he traveled in that boat full of gold and reached the land... Josh continued. Then he located Brian and met him. He told everything to Brian .. and he... jack is a pirate. He doesnt stay at one place at all. He hunts the seas for treasures and ships. What are you trying to say exactly? Gayu asked not understanding him. Ive got this feeling Josh said uncomfortably. That the crew isnt dead... they are alive.. and whatever took them.. wanted to leave Jack Sparrow... thats why it showed up the gold boat... to distract Jack.. it knew Jack would jump into the sea for gold. Any idea who took them? Ton asked. He was totally serious by now. Maybe a monster? Gayu said trying to be sensible. Sea of monsters, right? Monsters Josh said quickly. Talking about them... two ancient breeds of sea monsters were spotted.. Jack told Brian. Ancient Ton gasped. That means theyre supposed to be extinct by now. Yes Josh nodded. Acheilox and Chemotrys That sounds too weird. Gayu frowned at the two names. Sounds like some robots. Theyre sea monsters Josh cleared his point. Cant be robots. Ill have to find a way. Josh said raising the sea green book in the air. It zoomed up to the ceiling and got stuck there with the rest of the books. Josh Gayu looked around. Ritwik and Garfield were walking towards them. Garfield was a lean but muscular guy. He looked like a manager of some multinational company. He was holding a file in his hand. Garfield and Ritwik increased their speed as they made their way towards Josh. They looked worried about something. Vincent Ritwik said. The centaur was attacked last night. Hes injured Garfield hung his head. Injured is an understatement. Gayu knew Vincent. The centaur was the head of the team silver sixteen of the camp. The team had the best sixteen centaurs of the camp who were each given the responsibility to look after the cabins for night duty. Although there were twenty two cabins in total, the sixteen of them always managed to look after the cabins. Where is he? Josh asked getting up and grabbing his jacket. Gayu knew why he was getting tensed. Josh was close to the centaurs. They together had kept the camp campus and boundaries safe. He wouldnt like to see his friends injured. Infirmary Ritwik said quickly. Wanna come? Were going there. No need to ask brother. Josh dashed out towards the exit before Ritwik or Garfield could. Gayu looked at Ton. Coming? Ton asked Gayu. No need to ask brother. Gayu said mimicking Josh. Ritwik, Garfield, Gayu and Ton left cabin athena together heading towards the infirmary. ——— The infirmary was located at the corner. Away from all the cabins, the Head cabin and the Stow hall. The reason was.... patients resting in the infirmary must be given peace, harmony and silence. It was believed that if injured people are given stress, the process of healing takes longer time. If they are provided positivity, the process is faster. Gayu had never entered the infirmary as a patient. But she came here to visit her injured mates many times. The infirmary was a double floored building. The ground floor was divided in three sections. Right wing for satyrs, left wing for elves and center wing for the centaurs. On the first floor, there were no divisions because it was completely occupied by the demigods. There were two head girl and boy for controlling the infirmary department. Raina Islam, a member of the Apollo cabin, was responsible for the female demigods and Renzo Dawn, also a member of the Apollo cabin, was responsible for the male demigods. But when it was about any satyr, centaur or an elf, they worked together. The apollians were having a huge responsibility on there heads all the time. Tackling the unexpected diseases given by unexpected monsters by developing antidotes for them, creating medicines, healing the injured and so on... If they didnt work or went on a strike someday, the camp would not stop.. but of course, its working would surely slow down. Gayu, Ton, Ritwik and Garfield almost ran after Josh to keep up with him. He was so fast. Gayu wondered if he got this from Apollo... and she actually doubted it. As they entered the infirmary, Gayu could see Raina standing at a distance in the long corridor that led towards the center wing, and waiting for someone eagerly. When she saw Josh coming, Raina jogged towards him. Im not getting it Josh. Raina almost cried. This has never happened before. Josh put his arms around her shoulders. Well see hows he alright? Im sure hell be fine. Gayu suddenly felt scared. Till now she was thinking it might have been a normal attack that happened very often. But after looking at Rainas behavior, she doubted her guesses. They were walking faster as they crossed the corridor. I hope hes fine. Ton said who was walking behind Gayu along with Ritwik and Garfield. Hes the best centaur Ive ever met. Gayu agreed with Ton. Vincent was the head of the silver sixteens for a reason. He always stood first to fight. If he would fail to win.... his team would step ahead to fight. Gayu wondered what had happened to Vincent. Brian knows about the attack? Josh asked staring at the huge and tall doors of the center wing. The doors were built like that so the centaurs could pass easily in and out. He came to pay a visit to Vincent. Raina said as she dialled the code on the security machine on the wall beside the doors. He didnt like the view a lot... so— CODE ERROR!!! The security machine boomed. Gayu could see how nervous and tensed Raina was. She couldnt even dial the codes correctly. Her heart thumped inside her ribs. Gayu looked at Ton. He looked like a bodyguard right now. As if he wanted to smack someone. Ritwik had a tensed note on his face and Garfield was looking petrified. Gayu was the youngest among them right now. She should have been the most scared right now. But Gayu had no idea what was happening until ... Raina carefully dialled the codes again and the two huge metal doors shifted apart letting them enter the center wing. They had to cross another corridor which was connected to the rows of ward rooms on both the sides. Brian left the camp. Raina said peering inside every ward as they crossed them. He said he isnt celebrating his birthday.... hes out.. But how can he leave? Ritwik looked very confused. I mean.. some years ago he left his meeting with gods at olympus just to celebrate his birthday. What can be the reason he left the camp? I want to know what is more important to him than his birthday. Hes not celebrating it this year anyway. Raina said entering into a ward. Gayu entered the ward after Josh. The scene was grim. Vincent, the centaur, the head warrior of team silver sixteen, lay on a huge bed which was very low in height. His lower body, from his waist to his tail.. everything was covered with a green bedsheet. He was asleep and due to the horse body which lay flatly on the bed, Vincent wasnt able to sleep straight. His right arm was cut deeply and Renzo was restlessly trying to stop the blood flowing from it. Vincents head was covered in bandages. His left hand was covered with a plaster. Gayu gulped... surely his hand was broken. Im losing hope Josh. Renzo said looking tired. The wound... it isnt healing... the blood... its just flowing like water. You cant say that, Renzo. Josh said walking to the bed and kneeling to look at the deep gash on Vincents arm. Youre the best healer we have. Its not that. Raina said opening a bottle of some yellow paste. We dont have any antidote to the wound. This wound? Garfield asked staring at the cut in Vincents arm. Oh cmon you both. Ritwik said shaking his head unbelievably. Youve got antidote for everything... we all know that. Even this wound will heal eventually. Raina and Renzo looked at each other. Renzo shook his head as if saying no. Raina nodded confidently as if she was urging him to tell them something they havent. What is it? Josh asked staring at their faces. Renzo sighed staring at Vincent who was sleeping as if dead. We werent talking about this wound... Renzo wiped his eyes. We were talking about this one. Renzo pulled off the bedsheet which was covering Vincents lower body. Gayu shivered and gasped with terror hiding behind Ton. Ritwiks eyes widened and he gulped stepping away from the bed. Garfield looked away shutting his eyes. Ton turned to the other side holding Gayu. Only Josh was still there as he had been before. But after looking at the wound for three seconds, he shut his eyes and looked away. He didnt open his eyes for a while as if trying to realize the wound was real or not. Gayu peered from behind of Tons shoulder. She was shivering furiously. Vincent had a huge chunk of flesh missing around the area where his human waist was joining the horses chest. The wound wasnt covered with any bandage. Gayu felt disgusted. Who couldve been so cruel to such a thing. Before Gayu could notice the further details, Renzo covered the view with the green bedsheet. Nobody spoke for a while. Renzo broke the awkward silence. Brian touched Vincent and instantly declared that the wound wont heal until the venom is removed from his body. Venom? Ritwik asked frowning. Yes Raina nodded. He instantly realized that whatever had done this to Vincent... left a very unique venom in his wound... Brian said... he wont celebrate his birthday until Vincent is healed... so hes gone out to get an antidote for this venom. Gayu looked at Ritwik. He had a question.. what can be more important to Brian than his birthday?? The answer was here. Vincent was important. Brian had gone out to find an antidote for this unique venom so Vincent could be healed and stand again. Gayu felt guilty. She always thought Brian was very bad. But maybe she was wrong to some extent. Where has he gone? Josh asked frowning. The mountains of Omatikaya. Renzo said nodding his head. He said thats the place where hell find the antidote. I dont understand. Garfield said looking confused. What attacked Vincent exactly? No idea Raina shook her head. But we know one thing.... whatever attacked him... doesnt belongs to the camp. How can you be so sure about it? Gayu asked. Because... Renzo got up and walked to the window. We have all the venom and blood samples of all the monsters and animals who guard the boundaries of the camp. You know.... we make the antidote... we keep it ready in case they attack some member of the camp.... by mistake you know.... so.. we cross checked the samples and it didnt match any of them. Thats smart. Garfield said nodding and looking impressed. Sure Raina said. But then... Ton scratched his chin. If it wasnt anyone from inside.. then... was it someone from outside the campus? What was Vincent guarding last night? Josh asked worriedly. River ebony Gayu along with everyone turned to look at the door. Ryan, a centaur, and Vincents best friend stood there. He was so huge and majestic that he almost covered the door. He was holding a sword and sweating heavily. Gayu realized he had come straight to the infirmary from the practice fields to check his friends improvement. I found this when I went to check the place.. Ryan said pulling out something like a blade ... maybe a huge sharp teeth? Ryan trotted towards Josh and handed him the thing. Josh studied it for a while. That cant be true... Ritwik said confidently. This fang belongs to... Yes Josh nodded. This belongs to gracethorn.... Whos that? Garfield asked. The keeper of river ebony.... a sea monster. Ryan frowned at the fang which was in Joshs hand. So? Ton said in disbelief. Gracethorn decided to change sides and kill Vincent? No Ritwik said in defense. He cant do this... gracethorn is the most trustworthy and loyal monster we have. Yes... youre right. Garfield agreed. Josh stood up looking alarmed. Im getting this I think.... he looked at Ryan. The mermaids are not in the river at night, right? Theyre in there den.. Ryan said sternly. In the sea of monsters. Gayu was going crazy now. Wait a minute she raised her hand and everyone looked at her. How do they just disappear from the camp and reach the sea of monsters? Nobody said anything but kept staring at her as if she was a stranger. The sea of monsters... Josh finally answered her. Is internally connected to river ebony... a secret passage so gracethorn can come to guard the river at night... we cant keep a sea monster in a not so big river all the time, right Gayu? Gayu felt embarrassed now.. but she nodded. I trust Gracethorn Ton said. Im in your favor. Ritwik added instantly. Garfield looked at everyone. I believe its someone else. Me too Ryan said seriously. Gayu wondered why he said that. She expected him to be against Gracethorn as he himself had found the monsters fang where Vincent was found. You all are right. Josh said looking at the boys. I guess.... I know what happened. What? Gayu and Renzo asked in unison. Some other monster attacked Vincent and... Gracethorn.. tried to save Vincent.. the other monster... attacked Gracethorn and broke his fang....and now Gracethorn must be in.... Tartarus! Gayu said loudly. Everyone stared at her. But she knew she was right. We lost a.. hero. Josh said grimly. But.. Ton asked annoyingly. How did the other monster entered the camp? I believe it entered from the secret passage of river ebony.... Josh said thoughtfully. Thats why Vincent found it near the river... Gracethorn and Vincent might have tried to stop it... but it succeeded. A doubt Ritwik said looking at Josh. Why didnt the other monsters sensed or smelled him? They might have killed him by now, right? Maybe it doesnt have blood in its body? Raina said looking around at everyone. Yes Renzo nodded in agreement. It might not be a... blood containing monster. There was silence for a moment. Nobody spoke. Ryan Josh was the first to get back to his senses. Prepare the silver sixteen.. until Vincent is back, youll lead the centaurs. Ryan looked startled but he bowed with dignity accepting Joshs offer. And Josh added quickly. Inform the monsters that they must use their eyes, ears and sixth sense rather than only using their nose.... the monster might be roaming freely or if it isnt here... maybe... it will return to river ebony tonight..... nobodys there to guard the river... Gracethorn.... Gayu wasnt feeling scared now. She was feeling brave as if a war was approaching and she was ready to fight. Ryan bowed for the last time and trotted out of the room. Raina and Renzo Josh said looking at Vincent. If theres any improvement or any.... problem, then inform us.. well help if we can. Sure Renzo said. Raina and Renzo got busy discussing about the preferably right and fine antidotes they could use for Vincent until Brian gets back. Ill see you later Josh said to Gayu. Ive got... a lot of work to do... check the campus... tighten the security .. Its fine Ton said. Im sure Gayu wont mind. Gayu cast him a look and he jogged after Ritwik and Garfield who were already out of sight. Ill meet you at the night gathering. Josh said gently. And... after that... he looked at her with a naughty grin. What? Gayu asked. Josh yawned widely. Ill sleep... Im tiered already. Gayu laughed softly and Josh joined her. They walked out of the infirmary where Ton and Garfield were waiting for Gayu. Josh bid them good day and left. Wheres Ritwik? Gayu asked looking around. Vidhi was looking for him Garfield said. They together went to meet the witch. Gayu didnt need to ask which witch. The angelic witch was the one Garfield was talking about. Gayu knew Ritwik and Vidhi were friends of Neo. So now? Gayu asked. Lunch is over. Ton said. Its almost evening. We can practice now Gayu said quickly. Well eat at the dinner. Gayu wanted to practice now. She was done with the excuses she made to avoid the practice sessions. She knew that she will be needing her skills soon. ——— The sun was setting towards the west. Wind blew gently around the grass fields. Gayu, Ton and Garfield walked on the grass enjoying the weather. It was a little cold even though sun was out. They were about to start their practice session. Garfield was the one who gave Gayu and Ton information about their levels of improvement. He was a very important part of their practice sessions. Have you got full control over the wind yet? Garfield asked Gayu as they stopped and sat on the grass. Not fully. Gayu pouted sadly. Did you got full control over the roots? Garfield asked Ton. Not yet Ton shook his head. Garfield sighed looking at the sun. Gayu could feel that even though he was here, Garfield was thinking about the attack on Vincent. The drama was too much for just one day, right? Ton asked. I agree. Garfield murmured. Gayu felt unsafe now. Till now things were safe and sound but.... now a sudden feeling told Gayu that something was about to happen. She looked around to see if any monster was lurking around. Nobody was there.... Whos that? Gayu spotted two boys walking towards the Unicorns stables. They were coming from the banks of river ebony. I think.... Ton frowned. Lorenzo and Justin Do they even know what happened there last night? Garfield asked worriedly. I dont think so.. Gayu said. We just discovered about the attack, right? Gayu wondered what would have happened if that unknown sea monster would have popped out of river ebony in front of Lorenzo and Justin. Im not really that enthusiastic to practice right now. Ton said sadly. Me too Gayu agreed. She knew that Ton and Garfield were feeling heavy with the situation. But... I want to try something. Ton said standing up and dusting his pants. What? Garfield asked stretching his arms and yawning widely. Root summoning. Ton walked a little away from them. Be careful. Gayu warned him. Ton had powers... which kept him attached with the nature. The trees, leaflets, branches, roots. He could summon them. He could order them to do things for him. They were like the warriors who acted on Tons orders. Ton stood straight at a point. He stood like that for a while. Then he closed his eyes taking a deep breath. He raised his hands but nothing happened. Youve got to concentrate. Gayu clapped her hands trying to encourage him. Ton shifted a bit getting annoyed. He closed his eyes again and raised his arms facing the sun. Gayu felt as if was asking Apollo to give him a hug. Suddenly the wind ruffled Garfields hairs. He looked around to see if things were fine. Gayu gulped and looked at Ton. He was lost in his concentration. Gayu felt the ground beneath her vibrate. She stood up looking around to see if any gaint was approaching towards them. But nothing was around. The earth cracked revealing huge roots. The roots were thick and huge and completely covered in earthly dirt and soil. Run Garfield yelled. And surely the two were running away from Ton. But... that didnt helped much. Gayu jumped over the roots that were snaking around like miniacs. One of them grabbed Garfield by his waist and raised him in the air. One snaked around Gayus left foot and the next moment she was hanging upside down as the root raised her up. Ton Gayu yelled. Stop it Ton was lost in his concentration. The root waved Gayu up in the air and let go her. Gayu screamed loudly. The roots juggled Gayu randomly in the air. Finally she got angry. The thunders crackled up in the sky. A streak of red thunder hit Gayu and the root holding her shivered and dropped her immediately. Gayu was zooming towards the ground at full speed. Control the air pressure. Garfield yelled somewhere from below. The root had let him go as soon as it was hit by the red streak of thunder. Gayu shut her eyes and thought... pause!!!! Everything became very still. Gayus eyes were still shut. She opened her right eye slowly to find that.... she was just one feet above the ground hanging in the air. Gayu let herself go sighing in relief. She fell on the ground with a thud. That was fun. Ton said happily looking around. He was standing in the center surrounded by uncountable roots. Perfect!!! Garfield yelled running towards Ton. Amazing dude... never seen this stuff before. Amazing? Gayu snapped getting up. How dare these roots touch me like that? One of the roots responded her by grabbing her left leg and hanging her upside down. Let me go!!! Gayu said angrily. Calm down. Garfield said. Theyre sweet... if you behave sweetly. He gently touched a root which pushed Garfield gently. Maybe it tried to show love. Get them inside the earth before my sword touches them. Gayu said. The root dropped her and she thudded on the ground. Oh uh Ton mumbled. He flicked his fingers and the roots snaked back.. going inside the earth. Did you like that? Ton asked helping Gayu. Her clothes were a bit muddy. Amazing but.... Gayu looked at herself. Disgusting. Whats going on there? Garfield said looking towards the unicorns stables. Gayu looked up and saw Justin storming towards them. Lorenzo and Laura were running after him, trying to keep him calm. Are they coming here? Garfield asked nervously. Yes.. I guess. Gayu said. I think they had a fight? Ton suggested. Ill see you later. Garfield cast s look at Laura and jogged away. Whats up with him? Ton asked looking at Garfield as he disappeared around the forest. Laura didnt do anything to him, did she? Gayu asked. Justin wait Gayu looked at Lorenzo who was trying to stop Justin. What happen? Ton asked as they reached Gayu and Ton. Nothing Laura said quickly. Ton frowned. Oh.... so two of my friends as well as the best pranksters are walking around like someone just died and nothing happened? Laura opened her mouth to say something but.... nothing. Lorenzo Gayu asked. What happened? Lorenzo looked at Justin. Justin looked as if he felt disgusted with something. Err.. Lorenzo said softly. We saw a dog.
