BA lost last night. I watched completely dry-eyed as the Senior Football players and cheerleaders faced the rest of the team and led the Alma Mater for the last time. Madeline was a mess. We had driven to Memphis and it was freezing cold and I thought This has been a great ride. Not only my last time to see Madeline cheer at a football game, but my last BA football game after 15 years. And I didnt shed a tear. We got home about 2:00 a.m. I was too exhausted to unload the car so I did that this morning. I unpacked the blankets, the thermos of hot chocolate, my coat, hat, gloves, scarf and then I saw the BA stadium seats and the shakers. And as I pulled them out of the trunk I had a complete melt-down. By my car. In the driveway. I will miss watching my girl on the side-lines. I will miss knowing the boys on the team. I will miss sitting in the stands with my friends. Its right and its time and its part of the process, but I will miss it and I am sad. And thats okay.
