BENTON - Christena Summers, 98, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at home.She was born March 13, 1915, in Akin, the daughter of Benny and Stella (Moss) Johnson. She married Aden Summers on Nov. 30, 1933, in Raleigh, and he preceded her in death Feb. 9, 2001.Mrs. Summers was a member of Grace Bible Church, and she had been a longtime member of East Benton Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano.Survivors include three children, Sheral Jackson-Turner and husband, Charles, of Duncanville, Texas, Roberta Wills and husband, Burton, of Benton and Ed Summers and wife, Lynn, of Gallatin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Stacey Martin, Dale Jackson, Andrea Schafer and husband, Wayne, Julle Whaley and husband, Ron, Tim Wills and wife, Kelly, Brad Wills and wife, Sandra, and Michelle Lauer and husband, Fred; great-grandchildren, Connor Martin, Bronwyn and Skylar Self, Megan Marlow and husband, Ian, Molly Whaley, Jordan Wills, Mason Wills, Austin Wills, Mia Wills and Katelyn Lauer; and great-great-grandchildren, Brett Merkel, Lucas Marlow and Brayden Comeaux.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles Aden "Sonny" Summers; and brother and sister-in-law, Dail and Pauline Johnson.Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Burton Wills officiating. Burial will be in Masonic-Odd Fellow Cemetery.
