BEWARE KLM I sent KLM this letter (multi-times) in early July -- but have yet to receive a response. On June 29, boarding flight KL0461 from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv, I carried one pocketbook plus a carry-on (that I had carried-on on without problem on my arrival to Amsterdam 5 days before) As I approached planeside security, I was pulled aside . When I showed my US passport-- the one that I entered the Netherlands on, I was asked if I have an Israeli passport. Why, I asked, SURPRISED!!! I was told that if I do not have an Israeli passport, I will be sent back to the US . Israel has been my permanent home since the 1970s. Next, the KLM ground person took my carry-on away, claiming that it was too heavy and too big. Yet no one had weighed or measured it!! Even worse, I saw many passengers on this flight with carry-ons as large and LARGER than mine. When I questioned this unfair, specialized treatment, I was told, quite loudly, that I am a very impolite person. So my carry-on traveled in the baggage hold. In it were items. like contact lens solutions, etc, that were vital to my well-being en flight. I believe that I was singled out for this treatment because i am an Israeli. Is there another explanation! I demand a written apology for unfair treatment-- all this done publically before other passengers who could not believe their ears or eyes. I also demand monetary compensation for unwarranted public embarrassment and harassment.
