**BIANCAS KIDS CHRISTMAS WISH #16 GRANTED!** Ben, Grace & The Father of the Year This wish came to us from our Director Vanessa who brought to our attention one of the most amazing fathers we have ever encountered. Zach Hopkins is the father of 2 beautiful children – Benjamin & Grace. Here is his story: Benjamin: Ben was diagnosed at age 3 with Aplastic Anemia, a life-threatening bone marrow disorder. He has been in and out of the hospital and received immunosuppressive therapy in March in hopes of kick-starting his bone marrow. Ben continues to slowly respond. An alternative, if the need should arise, would be a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately for Ben, there are currently no matches in the registry. Grace: A few weeks after Bens diagnosis, Grace was born. She likely suffered a hypoxic event at some point and has multiple physical and mental disabilities. She does not have a suck, swallow or gag reflex and is fed by a g-tube. She has hearing and visual impairments and requires 24/7 suctioning to remove oral secretions. Grace is not able to crawl and do things that normal 8 month olds can do. What impressed us most about Zach is that with all of this, he has a never-ending positive attitude. He never complains. Instead, he is forever counting his blessings. This dad’s undying love and commitment to his precious children was something we have never witnessed before and it deserved celebration! Bianca’s Kids is sending Zach, his loving wife and two beautiful children to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania to enjoy their Christmas light extravaganza. The family will be taken to and from in their very own limousine so everyone can simply enjoy. The Christmas lights will be stimulating for Grace and exciting for Ben.
