BIBLE FACTOID – WILDERNESS TABERNACLE AND THE CROSS: When we first start reading the Bible, many often begin with Genesis and work their way over to the Book of Revelation. However, in pursuit of such endeavors, we gloss over the usual Books and Chapters that seem to have no apparent meaning, on its surface. Such Books and Chapters that most gloss over, are glossed over because they seem boring, unattractive and hard to figure out. We see no significance or importance of the Genealogies found in Genesis chapters 5, 10 and 11, or the gross Sacrificial and bloody details of the first 7-Chapters of Leviticus, or the detailed measurements of the Tabernacle, Priests garments, of Alters and Bowls and Candlesticks and then finally, the Numbering of the Tribes of Israel and the specific measurement and precise directions of both the Tabernacle and the surrounding Israelite Encampment, as found in the Book of Numbers, chapter 1. There is a great discovery within the very pages of the Bible, for those who seek Him and His Word, like one who seeks for buried Treasure. (see Matthew 13:44) These 66 books, written by 40 authors over thousands of years, readily reveal to determined Treasure seekers, a golden nugget of hidden Truth in EVERY BOOK and CHAPTER of the Bible, that has been supernaturally encoded with an integrated message system of Prophetic proportions, that boggles the mind and wits of men. In light of these spiritual truths above, we now focus our attention on the seemingly meaningless and boring information, found in Numbers chapter 1, regarding the NUMBERING of the children of Israel and the details of constructing the WILDERNESS TABERNACLE and surrounding ENCAMPMENTS. Every detail—of every numbering of the 12-Tribes, every Tribes location in proportion to this Tabernacle, and every allusion of such--is in the scriptures, by careful design and is very revealing when found and is proven to the Treasure Seeker, to be greatly significant and yet, just another clue of many. This insight unlocks a number of discoveries which otherwise would escape the notice of someone who takes the text less seriously. What insights are hidden in the numbering of the Tribes of Israel? NUMBERING: In Numbers chapter 1 we encounter the numbering of the people. Why? Why did the Holy Spirit want you to know this list of numbers? What hidden insight lies behind them? What could we possibly learn from these boring passages? Of course, there are valid historical reasons for the inclusion of this detail in the Torah (the 5-books of Moses). But if we examine these details more closely, some remarkable insights begin to emerge. THE TABERNACLE When Moses received the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, he also received detailed specifications and instructions for the building of a portable sanctuary, the TABERNACLE, or tent of meeting. The purpose of this unusual facility was to provide a place for God to dwell among His people. I want all Treasure Seekers to visualize in their minds, what they are about to read.....The tabernacle was always set up at the CENTER of the Camp of Israel. The tribe of Levi (the priests), small in number, were assigned to care for it, and closely encamped around this Tabernacle. Moses, Aaron, and the priests camped on the EAST side next to the entrance. The three families of the tribe of Levi (Merari, Kohath, and Gershon), camped on the NORTH, SOUTH and WEST side, respectively. But the remaining 12-Tribes were grouped into 4-CAMPS, further away in proximity of the tabernacle, but AROUND the TABERNACLE, which always lay in the CENTER of the whole encampment of Israel. THE FOUR CAMPS So, these 12-remaining tribes, (excluding the Levites who encamped close to tabernacle), were clustered into these 4-Camps. Each of these 4-Camps, of 3-Tribes each (12-total), were ALSO to rally around their own assigned TRIBAL LOGO, as evidenced below: 1) Judahs tribal standard was, of course, the LION. 2) Reubens ensign was a MAN; 3) Ephraims was the OX; 4) Dans, ultimately, the EAGLE. *These logos are described in detail in the following diagrams below: THE FOUR FACES: It is interesting to note that these four primary tribal standards--the LION, the MAN, the OX, and the EAGLE--are the same as the 4-FACES of the cherubim around the Throne of God. Each time we encounter a view of the Throne of God, we notice these 4-strange living creatures, somehow associated with the protection of His throne, His holiness and etc. It would seem that the camp of Israel--with the TABERNACLE situated in the MIDDLE--seems to be a MODEL OF THE THRONE OF GOD: His presence in the CENTER, represented by the TABERNACLE, encircled by the 4-FACES, all surrounded by His people. But theres even more. Why the specific numbers? CARDINAL COMPASS POINTS: Each of the 4-CAMPS, of 3-TRIBES EACH (12-total), were to encamp on one of the cardinal compass directions (N, S, E, or W) with respect to the camp of the Levites, which encamped in close proximity of the tabernacle. To fully appreciate all of the implications, you must try to think like a rabbi: you need to maintain an extremely high respect for the precise details of instructions! AERIAL VIEW: If we assemble what we can infer from the Torah account, we can imagine what the camp of Israel looked like from above: This wilderness TABERNACLE in the CENTER, surrounded by the 4-FACES of the tribal standard LOGOS, and each of the 4-CAMPS of Judah, Ephraim, Reuben, and Dan, stretching out in the 4-CARDINAL DIRECTIONS of NORTH, SOUTH, EAST and WEST. Given the NUMBER of ISRAELITES COUNTED, the LARGEST TRIBES were LOCATED at the SOUTH END of the TABERNACLE. Now LOOK at the PLAN VIEW of this PRECISE TABERNACLE LAYOUT, which is shown in the PICTURE provided for this lesson, below. What do you see? Do you see a C-R-O-S-S?? This is a relative PICTURE of what the children of Israel and the enemies of Israel saw, as they would gaze down upon this wilderness TABERNACLE, that was shaped in the form of a CROSS.... What they were seeing, was a PROPHETIC FORESHADOW of the very means of their future Salvation and Messiah, who, would hang upon this future Cross! Do you think this Bible Factoid is a coincidence? Do you now think that the Bible is just another Book of many Books, written by Man alone, apart from the Spirit of God? Can you possibly believe that these Hebrew slaves, that were recently released from captivity, of whom most, were illiterate, somehow planned this Tabernacle Cross in the desert? I think not. I think they were CLUELESS about this Bible Factoid and such details and Instructions made NO SENSE to them, whatsoever. Nevertheless, they obeyed because this God delivered them from the tyrannical oppressive hand of Pharaoh and thank God they did obey and recorded such event, for us to glean from, revealing the Majesty, Wisdom, Power and Mercy of our God. Isnt that remarkable? And this Gospel Message is from the Torah, from the Old Testament and not from the New Testament, 2,000-years before Jesus came and died on that CROSS! Isnt the Word of God absolutely fabulous? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed; The Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What lesson should we learn from this Bible Factoid? We should learn that God’s Word is PURE and TRIED, like silver and gold in a furnace, purified seven times (Psalm 12:6) and can be trusted. We learn that if we have Faith and Patience when we read HIS HOLY WORD and seek HIS TRUTH, like seeking for buried Treasure, we will Find these Hidden Golden Nuggets, so that through Faith and Patience, we are refreshed, comforted, enlightened and encouraged to diligently seek after and Trust HIM and HIS Holy Word and that Jesus is who HE said HE was… Amen? ROMANS 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. 2-TIMOTHY 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2-PETER 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
