BID TO SAVE A STRAY AGM UPDATE. Following our first AGM of the charity in Romania we are pleased to report the following exciting things which will be happening over the next few months. 1)-The new shelter: The shelter will be complete by beginning of April weather permitting, It will have space for 150 dogs with inside facilities and out door pens. An additional 300 will be housed in outdoor pens. The fully equiped vet room will house state of the art equipment to treat not only our dogs but dogs brought in by the public. There will be 3 quarantine areas with special air filtration systems and sanitisation units. All dogs brought in will be quarrantined seperately (This does all ready happen- all dogs are quarantined away from our existing dogs till they have passed the incubation period for diseases like parvo and distemper) We will build a special playground for the dogs to interact with children who will come from the local schools to educate them on how dogs really act..Hopefully changing the attitude of the next generation of Romanian pet owners. Eventually we hope to purchase our existing shelter and build a special play ground for the dogs with trees and mounds and a pool area. 2) Transport Company: We will be starting our own transport company to bring our dogs to the UK and Germany and will also transport other rescue dogs as people require. We will be offering charity places for special case dogs and assisted places as well. The van has already been purchased and fitted out in Germany to full EU standards with air con and heating systems. The income from the transport company will go back into the shelter to allow us to expand as and when possible and to feed the 450 dogs we will have.. The Charity have applied for a type 2 transporters licence and once this has been approved and a kennel facility secured in the UK the first transport will take place.The transport company will be run by the UK Charity and the German team jointly... We aim to run a transport company that is for the benefit of the dogs and one which will look after its customers, Below is a picture of our new transport van..and yes it is really painted like that..
