BOOK REVIEWS WANTED Dear friends and members of the ALSCW, I am writing to encourage you to contribute your work to the newest feature of Literary Matters: a book review section. The first of these pieces appeared in Issue 6.1, and more are slated to be published in Issue 6.2. As readers with diverse interests, all of us have the opportunity to make recommendations to our fellows and stimulate good debate. We’d like to make Literary Matters a place readers will turn to eagerly for insight into both recent and older books. These pieces may range from 500 to 1500 words, and should be critical in the full sense (not only laudatory). The review need not provide an extensive overview of the entire work, but can instead focus on the characteristics you feel set the piece apart. Please send your reviews to [email protected]. Any questions you have may be directed to the same email address. The submission period for Issue 6.3 ends on August 15. Pieces focusing on other content are still being accepted as well. Book reviews will be published in all issues from this point forward, so if you are not able to make this deadline, you’ll have many opportunities to submit book reviews in the future.
