BOOKIE DAY 57 - pm - Just rolled in from Bham. God loves a 72 year old driver and protects her all the way home down I-65. Now about Bookie-He had a full day of tests on his stomach to see why his gastro-intestinal tract is not working. The test: Bookie consumed 100 mls of Ensure and 52% remained in his stomach, the rest (48%) went into his small intestine. Tomorrow, Drs. are going to try a New drug and more feeding into his tuna can (PEG tube) to see if they can get his intestines to wake up and start working. I am thinking that we all need to pray for a miracle here. Please focus your thoughts and prayers on this man that has tried so hard and survived so far. He is Soooo exhausted but surrounded by loving friends and family who try so hard to encourage him Onward. Hi BEST friend of 50+ years, Tip Wilson of Portland, Oregon, has been here by his bedside laughing with him, telling him stories and planning a salmon fishing trip in Oregon for the Fall for 3 Days. Today, with tears in his eyes, he told me that he just had to go. I said, do you mean die? He said NO, I mean get outta here! See what Tip has done? INSPIRATION! John Haley visited today, Jim and Audrey Wilson visited yesterday. Friends coming to the rescue!!!!
