BRIEF TEXT REVIEW Spoon - They Want My Soul Every year it seems like theres a band Ive heard praise sung about as long as Ive closely followed the indie music scene, but never gotten around to until their new album, which Id subsequently blown away by. In 2012 it was Bloc Party, last year it was Wavves, and this year (along with Death from Above 1979) its Spoon. Since Ive jam-packed with end-of-semester work at the moment, Im gonna keep this one even shorter than my other ones: if youre looking for some fun, infectious pop-rock with some eccentric & experimental touches to put on your year-end list, definitely give this thing a listen. Its not mind-blowing or anything Im really connecting with lyrically outside a few tracks. But its pretty much the epitome of great poppy indie-rock, with just enough diversity & interesting touches to make it all the more engaging all the way through. Top 5 tracks: Do You, New York Kiss, Outlier, Inside Out, Rainy Taxi Skippables: N/A Score: 8.5/10 Also usually at the end of these Id share a review that echoes my thoughts from a channel Im close with. But in this case I found one Id never heard of that did a really good video on it. https://youtube/watch?v=x9YaHvkVROA
