BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEEEE BEES xxx I love em....I have been wanting to get bees for ages, and have rejected all offers to get them for a million reasons, i got too many animals, a veggie garden to run way too many chooks, a counselling business and a markets to run....then we unschool and so it goes.......so when i got invited to Veras place on tuesday to see their native hive being split i was happy to be there.....a sinus infection took the spring our of my step...buy hey...... I came away knowing what I wanted from santa for xmas for our whole family.... .......thats right you guessed it.....a little box of 10,000 stingless wonderful propagating social native bees.....the Carbonaria species to be exact-no special gear, required, no smoking them out, no queen bees getting cranky and no cranky bees deciding that youre not their mama no more.....and yes with this comes a lot less honey....but the honey you do get is seriously like no other...floral flavours, not as sweet and a jar every two weeks will do just fine thanks. Tony Goodrich sells hives and posts them to you. Its $350 for a propagation hive or $400 for Honey jar hives with a 12 month guarantee. Postage is $70. I think hes hoping to come down and run a one day workshop so Ill keep you posted on those details when i know more.
