Back in 1966 when The Doors were playing their first sets at the London Fog (60s Nightclub), they played quite a few cover tunes in addition to their original material. After hearing a version of Back Door Man by John Hammond Jr, Robby suggested to the guys that they add it to their set. It ended up being one of their favorite songs and they played it at nearly every concert they ever did after that. Here is the original recording by Howlin Wolf in 1960. The tune was originally written by Willie DIxon, but no recordings of his version exist. https://youtube/watch?v=HTAc62476f4
