Baghdad –The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed on Friday that the visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister to Iraq is a positive message for enhancing relationships between the two brotherly countries, Iraq and Egypt. A statement by the SIIC received by All Iraq News Agency cited “Hakim stressed during his meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri, the importance that Iraq and Egypt take the leading and historical role.” “He referred to the importance of the exerted efforts of all in order to get rid of the current crisis in Iraq, calling for political, religious, tribal and community figures to assume their responsibilities,” the statement added. The statement concluded “Both sides also discussed developments in the political and security situation in Iraq, Egypt and all over the region.”
