Bank of America: the bank to use if you would like to jump through hoops presented by evil underwriters. Two and a half months ago, we applied to refinance our mortgage and get a HELOC. Today at 5:30 pm, they asked for copies of my last two pay checks. Seriously? All week they have been telling us, its in final review and should be approved any day now. We have endured four rounds of underwriting requests spaced two weeks apart. What the heck are they doing in those two weeks? Redecorating their offices? Taking vacation? I completely lost it and actually dissolved into tears upon hearing this fourth underwriting request. Then I wrote a complaint letter to the manager describing every detail of this ridiculous situation. Bureaucratic. Inept. Incompetent. Abusive.
