Barnacles. I grew up with them. They were everywhere I played - TopicsExpress

Barnacles. I grew up with them. They were everywhere I played when I went down to the inlet across the street on Barnet Hwy in Port Moody. They cut my feet. They barricaded my way into swimming waters. They grew on Everything! The oysters, the clams, the mussels...the rocks, the boats, the sea life that moved too slow. I knew they were living things, but I never was able to catch them in action. Until today! At the end of a trail in Burgoyne Park, there is a rock bluff that sits low to the ocean. It is filled with tidal pools. I had sat down to chat it up with a seal that seemed interested in what I was up to. When I took a minute to settle, and looked down between my feet...Really looked down - and Into the pool of life churning in its own little world...I Just Stopped. I could feel my pupils focus and my mind engage. I melted down into myself a little more and just watched...relaxing deep into my crouch. Wow. Barnacles. All kinda going Yum Yum Yum!! I couldnt help smiling! They looked very hungry and also very Content...just being Barnacles! All I had with me was my cell phone - which I take with me always because it is so light and its a fun way to record my adventures and do a little reconnaissance for future real photos. So...please excuse the poor quality. Still...thought Id share it with you, because you can still see their little barnacle tongues gettin all busy! I put the music in...well just because I wanted to! You can see them a little better if you go full screen, and the focus gets better in a few seconds :) lovin me some Barnacles!
