Bassey Enyinna: Now Umunnem Biko lets settle this debate. When I was in secondary school there was this girl in my class I had a crush on but I was scared to show coz she is from a decent background and I respected her so much. Again I was not so proud of my background either. So I was contented with just ordinary greeting and occasional exchange of smiles and hanging out in groups. Eleven years later we met again got talking and things started taking a romantic dimension. I opened up to her that I was already in a serious loving relationship with someone I intend to marry. She broke down and cried and since then had stopped calling me. Back then in school I used to notice those funny moves girls do when they want a guy to come closer but I was not just bold to play along that track. She said she waited and hoped that one day I will man up and talk to her but it never happened and she didnt want to approach me coz she was afraid I will turn her down and besides it is not a woman that approached a man. Umunnem we are now in a new era, should women break free from this old communication barrier and open up to a guy if they really feel like having him? Please respond!
