Whatever one says about possession play and the supreme ability to pass accurately, any team that has Christiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in it can make statistics feel like a deception to quote Daniel Taylor of The Guardian. The speed with which these two guys make their run can deceive anything and everything. Real Madrid somehow managed to crowd out the ever-so-beautiful Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery on both the flanks. Having said that, Mario Gotze should have scored from the only clear chance that Bayern got. He only had Iker Casillas to beat in front of an open goal with quite a bit of time in hand. Thomas Mueller could be seen arguing with the referee and his assistants well after the final whistle was blown. He felt that it was a penalty call and perhaps a red card in the last minute of injury time.
