Beautification of schools can enhance early childhood learning, development , along with community leaders and education organizations, are working to emphasize the need for beautifying education sites across the city. With the majority of childhood development occurring before children enter school, they must be exposed to educational opportunities starting at birth or they risk falling behind and playing catch up for the rest of their lives. Educare schools aim to serve disadvantaged children by helping them develop, which includes providing students with beautiful and healthy environments, where learning is enhanced. Many of us likely take it for granted that we live, work and learn in clean, healthy and refreshing environments. However, this is a luxury many kids at the Oklahoma City Educare school rarely get to experience. Beautiful landscaping and clean facilities can help accelerate the learning process for many young students. In addition to enhancing general early childhood development, the beautification of school sites like Educare can provide lessons on the importance of self-respect, environmental awareness and community involvement. Another direct benefit of beautification we have seen is in the pride and effort of nearby neighborhoods. A perfect example is the Educare median and school. Once the median and school were landscaped, residents in this blighted area began planting shrubs and flowers along with caring for their properties as best as they could afford. They were thrilled about the improvements and continue to keep a close eye on the area. By implementing programs and raising funds to beautify Oklahoma City Educare, Inasmuch Foundation expects to see a substantial improvement in the quality of learning for the children at Educare. Efforts are already beginning to pay off at schools such as Mark Twain Elementary, Harding Charter High School and Mann Elementary, but we can’t do it alone. We need the Oklahoma City community to rise up and passionately support community leaders like Inasmuch Foundation and its dedication of maintaining and creating beautiful atmospheres for our education sites. Every child in our great city should have the opportunity to learn in beautiful, fun, safe and clean facilities
