Beautiful day and a great run for all on Sunday. Everyone looked great and well prepared. With that said please know that last Sunday was an anomaly. Expect our runs to be hot, hazy, and humid laced with some fun, watermelon and freeze pops. Remember for Sundays and all your runs in the heat to carry water with you. Safety Minute: Please understand that the roads we run on are open and full of traffic. When we leave city dock and head up King George please stay on the sidewalk as much as possible. I noticed several groups running 4 and 5 abreast totally blocking the right lane. Also one we cross the USNA bridge and turn right on B&A Blvd please run single file up the hill until we turn into Ferry Farms. This is a blind spot for cars and on an early Sunday morning with little traffic they may not be as aware as they should be for runners and cyclists. Bottom line is that we all need to be courteous to traffic and aware of its presence. Thank you to those who initiate and forward on the “car back” calls. Mid Week Training: The training schedule for this season is loaded in the files section of the group. Just as important as you Sunday long runs is your mid-week training. You’ll need this work in the bank to have a successful A10. If it’s going to be too hot during the day consider running very early or late in the day. Next Sunday we will run 6 miles exactly as we ran last Sunday. The following week we jump to 8 so this one should feel comfortable and build your confidence.
