Because of the overwhelming success of our annual BHMS/FHS Chorus Christmas Concert, it became necessary make a few changes to how we do things. The last few years have seen the Grand Theatre filled beyond safe capacity. We solved this problem by adding a second performance last year. It worked wonderfully, so we will do it again. Both concerts will be on December 10 at the Grand Theatre. The first performance will begin at 6:30 pm and should end by 7:45 pm. The second performance will begin at 8:00 pm and should end by 9:15 pm. Parents/Family/Friends are asked to attend only one of the two performances. The doors will be open until the Grand has reached seating capacity. After that, no one else will be allowed in. Students are to eat before coming to the Grand and must be signed in and in their places by 6:10. Between the concerts, they will stay with me and have water and a snack. (Now is the perfect time to show off your latest yummy cookie recipe by donating a batch or two.) I encourage the BHMS parents to make every effort to come to the 6:30 performance. If you are unable to get in, you still have the option of attending the 8:00 performance. As always, the concert is free, but we will accept donations as you leave to help offset the costs of the performance. Below are some reminders about the concert and rehearsal for you and your chorus student. I look forward to needing to add a third performance! • BHMS/FHS Chorus Christmas Concert • Tuesday, December 10 at the Grand Theatre • Students must be seated on risers at 6:10. First concert begins at 6:30. • Wear chorus uniform t-shirt with blue jeans (no holes) 1. If you’ve not yet purchased your chorus shirt, you need to do so before the Christmas concert. Cost is $10 per shirt. Checks need to be written out to “Ben Hill Middle School” or “BHMS”. Please include the student’s name and “Chorus” in the bottom left corner of the check. 2. Financial assistance is available upon parental request. • Students must be in uniform to sing. • This is the chorus benchmark exam and will be graded. • BHMS Chorus Concert Rehearsal • Monday, December 9 at the Grand Theatre • Students must be seated “fanny-to-fabric” at 4:20. Practice begins at 4:30. • FHS will be on stage when you enter, so be quiet. • This is our only chance to practice as a combined chorus and with the high school – very important • Rehearsal will end at 5:45.
